New laptop computers have arrived for our free Laptop Computer program. WATV provides free laptops, software, and subsidies for Internet services to children of low income households who otherwise could not afford them. This way, their kids can stay on top of their online schooling and extra-curricular activities. First to get their computers are the families on the waiting list. Local NHL hockey legend Chris Kontos is once again the Honourary Chair of our annual For The Kids fundraising campaign! This joyful winter scene was painted in watercolour by our very own Executive Director Cathy Mills! A local artist, Cathy is inspired by the children in her life. Our annual year-end For The Kids campaign has begun. The campaign raises the funds necessary to ensure that the kids enrolled in extracurricular activities for 2021 have the funding needed from We Are The Villagers (WATV). Our goal this year is to raise $15,000 in November and December for our 2021 programs and sponsorships. To meet this goal, we need the community to help. A WATV villager picks up her Wye Marsh bird camp-in-a-box kit. The kit contains a week's indoor and outdoor activities for the kids, including a virtual component and some online team exercises.
